Ratcheting Rivet

Ratcheting Rivet

Description

I'M Going To Be Experimenting With Creating Coroplast Cargo Pods For My Bicycle. So One Of The Ways Of Bonding Coroplast Seems To Be With Plastic Rivets. Which You Can Buy Online, But Are Only Available In Black, And Are Rather Over-Priced Imho. So I Designed My Own. My Intent Here Is To Possibly Create A Group To Continually Come Up With Better Designs For These Ratcheting Rivets. So Please By All Means Hack Away And Remix It. You'Ll Need To Print Two And They Fit Together Like Puzzle Pieces. *Update* I Intended To Print These In Abs Or In High Strength Resin On An Sla Printer. I Have Successfully Printed This In Pla On A Makerbot Replicator 2. They Work, They Pull Appart Pretty Easy When They Are Not In A Hole, Because The Arms Are Allowed To Flex. But If You Push The Arms Together And Try To Pull Them Apart They Stick Firm. So I'M Thinking If It'S In A Hole Which Is Going To Keep The Arms From Flexing They Will Be Just Fine. I May Want To Increase The Size Of The Little Triangle Grabber Pieces. *Update* I'Ve Created A V2, I'Ve Rounded The Top Of The Head And Made It 1Mm Thinner, I Also Increased The Size Of The Grabber Pieces By 0.2Mm. *Update* I'Ve Created A V3, Now With Pointy Tips To Allow For Easier Insertion. I Recommend Printing These In A Stronger Material. Pla Is Just To Brittle For This Application. I Would Go With Abs, Nylon, Or Carbon Fiber Filament. This Thing Was Made With Tinkercad.
