Anet A8 9g servo Z probe

Anet A8 9g servo Z probe

Description

This The Simplest And Cheapest Z-Probe For Anet A8 3D Printer (Requires Marlin Or Other Firmware To Support Servo Z-Probe). In Fact It Is Very Accurate (More Accurate Than 3Dtouch). Actually I Was Using 3Dtouch Sensor Until One Day It Desperately Failed And As Result The Hotend Crashed The Heatbed. I Decided Not To Spend Another £15 For Something That Could Fail Again And Worked Out This Solution. All You Need Is 9G Servo (Mg90, Sg90 ...) That Comes With Servo Arms And Screws. You Need The Cross Arm And Cut It As In The Picture To Basically Have Two Screws Holes Left For The Micro Switch. You Need The Micro Switch (Smaller Than That You Have In Your Anet Printer). Use Two Long Screws That Come With The Servo To Attach Micro Switch To The Arm As In The Picture. Finally Use Mount Bracket (Print The Stl Provided) To Attach The Servo To The X-Carriage. Please Note This Bracket Designed To Have Non-Deployed Switch Just Several Millimetres Higher Than Nozzle Of The E3D Extruder On Modified Carriage (Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2099577). You Need Two Self Tapping Screws No2 (2.2Mm Diameter) To Attach Servo To The Bracket And Two Screws No4(2.9-3 Mm) To Attach Bracket To The Sc8Uu On The X-Carriage The Same Way As Other People Mount Their Probes At The Rear. You Could Print Two Small Tubes And Put Them Inside Holes And Then Screws Will Go Inside Them And The Friction Will Hold Everything In Place. But I Just Cut Pieces Of Cable Tie And Put In The Holes Of The Sc8Uu And It Hold Perfectly. Electrically Micro Switch Connected The Same Way As Standard Z Limit Switch. The Servo Goes Connected The Same Way As 3Dtouch Sensor (Described Here: Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:2091529). Everything Else Is Better To Read On The Next Page Where The Similar Probe Explained Much Better: Http://Lokspace.Eu/Adding-9G-Servo-Based-Autolevel-Sensor-To-Your-3D-Printer/ . The Working Z-Probe In Action: Https://Youtu.Be/Ewtqi2Ujhk0 Small Advice: Mount Servo, Flash Modified Marlin Firmware (Put {80,0} For The Angles), Run The Printer, It Will Put Servo To Zero Position, Then Attach Arm With Switch To The Servo, Put It Vertically As In The Picture. In This Way Your Deployed Angle Will Be Something Like 80 As I Have It. Small Notices: The Switch Is Very Close To The Rotation Centre, This Minimizes Servo Accuracy Impact On Z-Probe Accuracy. Also The Switch Mounted To The Cross Arm And When Deployed Is Horizontal With Support On Both Parts Of The Arm, So Basically The Touch Will Not Put Much Rotational Force On The Servo.
