Ender 3 - Safe & Silent Board Chassis Cover incl. Fan Guard
Description
This The Final Design Of My Replacement For The Ill Designed Original Mainboard Cover Of The Creality3D Ender 3. It Tries To Solve Three Problems: 1. The Actual Fan Opening Is 40 Mm And By Itself Free From Near Field Obstacles. Also All Edges Are Slightly Rounded. Both Of This Will Decrease Fan Noise Considerably. 2. The Air Is Taken From The Left Side Of The Printer And Will Therefor Contribute Less To Cooling Down The Bed. It Will Also Be Generally Colder Than Sucking Air From Below The Heatbed Area. 3. The Fan Opening Is Covered Which Keeps Dirt And Stuff Outside The Main Board Area. The Original Design Just Asks For Things To Fall Into The Precious Main Board Space. The Design Was Split In Two Parts. It Can Be Printed Without Supports (See Below For Some Hints). I Made A One Part Piece Before But Removing The Support Was Just To Tedious. Printing One Vertically Will Not Allow For The Rounded Edges And Has Overall Less Stability. The Two Parts Do Fit Easily Together. After Mounting The Fan One Can Use Some Drops Of Glue For Long Term Stability. Update: I Added Some Rounding To Top Edges Of The Plate And Made Some Insets For The Nuts. Later Ones Let You Unscrew And Change The Fan Even After Glueing The Roof Onto The Plate. I Also Changed The Import Direction For The Roof, To Make It More Obvious How It Is Meant To Be Printed. Update 2: I Added A Version Of The Plate Which Has "Lips" To Stop The Light Bleeding From Inside The Case. Thanks For The Idea @Drboo!. Update 3: A Version For A 60 Mm Fan Was Added. I Did Not Try This Myself And Let The "Roof" Being The Same Size. Please Tell Me If It Worked For You If You Print One. P.S.: I Published A Design With The Opening At The Front Before And Decided To Take That Back. The Design With The Opening To The Left Is Just So Much Better.
