USB Type C Adjustable Power Supply
Description
A Tiny Adjustable Power Supply That Uses A [Pd Buddy](Https://Hackaday.Io/Project/20424-Pd-Buddy-Sink) To Source Power Over Usb Type C And A [Rui Deng] (Https://Rdtech.Aliexpress.Com/Store/923042) Dps5005 Adjustable Power Supply Does The Adjustment. Both Support Up To 5A, And While The Dps5005 Supports 50V, Usb Type C Only Goes Up To 20V. Technically, You Could Use A Dps3005 And Save A Couple Of Dollars Instead. Additional Context And Full Res Photos On [My Blog](Https://Eclecti.Cc/Hardware/Tiny-Usb-Type-C-Adjustable-Power-Supply). Assembly Is Pretty Straightforward. 1. After Printing The Housing, Stick M3 Nuts Into The Bottom. 2. Install The Banana Plug Terminal. Any 0.75" Spacing Terminal Should Work, Though I Bought A Highrock Branded One Off Of Amazon. 3. Install Wires Onto The Terminals And Onto The Pd Buddy. Make Sure You'Ve Programmed The Voltage And Current Settings For The Pd Buddy,Since The Programming Button Will No Longer Be Accessible (Or Modify The Cad To Expose It). 4. Install The Pd Buddy Into The Housing Using Some Short M3 Bolts, Screwing Into The Captured M3 Nuts. 5. Remove The Screw Terminal Block From The Dps5005 (Conveniently), And Install The Other Ends Of The Wires Into That, Making Sure To Get Positive And Negative And In And Out In The Right Order. 6. Install The Terminal Block Into The Dps5005, And Press Fit It Into The Housing. Done!
