Replicator 2X Filament Guide Tube
Description
I Previously Made A New Spool Holder Because The Stock One That Comes With The Replicator 2X Binds Up And Causes The Prints To Fail. This Is The One I Made: Https://Www.Thingiverse.Com/Thing:53780 After Printing And Setting These Up, I Found That The Spools Were Farther Away From The Back Of The Printer And The Filament Took A Sharp Bend To Get To The Filament Tube Attached To The Back Of The Printer And Sometimes Caused A Loose Spool Of Material To Come Out Of The Spool. I Looked Online For Existing Guide Tube Options But Did Not Find Anything That Worked Well. I Decided To Build One From Scratch Despite Having Little Knowledge To Do So. I Used Tinkercad To Make The 4 Different Parts. For The Tube Guides, I Decided To Make Them From Ninjaflex Because I Wanted To Bend The Tubes Slightly Out At The End And I Had The Filament But Never Used It Before. I Mirrored The First Tube I Made To Create The Second Tube Side. My Existing Plastic Tubes Fit Into The Ninjaflex Parts And The Filament Goes Up These Tubes. I Added An Abs Bridge Between The Parts To Flex The Ends Out So They Are Closer To The Middle Of The Spools And Also Added Another Abs Clip To The Top To Hold To The Zip Tie Clamp Used To Hold Down The Wire Bundle. The Abs Parts Were Printed With The Standard Settings On The Makerbot Software With A Raft And Supports (Although The Supports Were Not Really Needed). For The Ninjaflex My First Attempt Using The Same Settings But No Raft Or Supports Failed. I Slowed Down The Print Speed And Removed The Retraction And Got A Decent Print. Overall, I Am Happy With My First Print Project Starting With My Design.
