Reach3D BLTouch + Part Cooling Fan Mount

Reach3D BLTouch + Part Cooling Fan Mount

Description

This is the mount I designed to mount a BLTouch Smart sensor to the Reach3D printer (http://reach3dprinters.com/). You can also mount a radial fan for part cooling. The fan mounting parts were designed with this particular fan in mind (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K49K358) but should work with any fan with similar dimensions. You do need to superglue the nozzel to the air funnel. (Align the nozzle carefully!) The tip of the radial fan will seat firmly down into the top of the air funnel. Depending on your current setup, you may be able to simply re-use your existing hot end clamps. I've included a set of clamps here, just in case. Also, this mount was designed around the E3Dv6 hotend. It may not work with clones, as some are longer than the actual E3Dv6 and may throw off the Z offset by too large of a margin. The BLTouch will mount with it's included screws and nuts. To mount the fan, you will a M3-20mm bolt and nut and 2 x M3-12mm bolts and nuts. You may also need an extra set of M5 nuts to mount the accessory mount to the hotend carriage. Using the included clamps, you can resess the original nuts into the clamp. Then attach this accessory mount with a second set of nuts. This allows removal of this accessory mount without loosing the clamps holding the hot end. Once mounted, you will want to do a z-probe and get a good measurement of the z-offset and modify your firmware accordingly. My offsets are currently set at X: 16, Y: -29, and Z: -0.95.
