Light Clip

Light Clip

Description

I have always been concerned when riding my motorcycle that the following car can't tell when i'm engine braking (decelerating without using my brakes). Until I got a new bike (Fz-09) it was never that large a concern because lifting off the throttle never caused such rapid deceleration. After riding this bike for a week or two though I realized this was goin to be a major problem as this bike you only really hit the brakes when going into a turn or coming to a stop. This seemed like as good a time as any to wire in Led lights to a 3 axis accelerometer and some additional Led lighting. I was adding a fender delete kit so I wired them into the running lights for the plate and was pleasantly surprised by the preformance. I was not however impressed by my mounting options. I found I was left with either the plate (not a great idea and a nightmare to hide the wires) or the rear passenger pegs (not really long enough for the LED strips I had found readily available) I tried the included adhesive strips but discovered that wasn't really going to have much holding power. So I broke out the laptop got on solidWorks and created the exact profile of the passenger pegs withe the light strip. I added a hole so they could be tightened down using a zip tie and tada. They are made from black TPU so they are forgiving and flex as you tighten the zip tie. This also makes them virtually invisible from a distance with the LEDs on. Now cars tend to avoid me as my new lights flash at them every time I decelerate and go nuts when I both brake and decelerate. There is no way someone can claim the didn't see me now!!! *******IF ANYONE WANTS THEM I CAN UPLOAD A WIRING DIAGRAM AND PARTS LIST THE WHOLE PROJECT COST LESS THAN $40 INCLUDING THE LIGHTS********
