Bowden (PTFE) Couplers

Bowden (PTFE) Couplers

Description

This is a series of simple printable Bowden couplers. I use these in place of the conventional press fit metal versions. The M10 x1 mm screw version fits the end of a E3D extruder. There is also a version with a "E3D" extruder type bobbin that can be used at the cold (motor drive) end. Photo shows a Titan Clone with the fitting. The advantage of these units is that they clamp the tubing firmly and unlike the press-fit types, are relatively easy to undo, with little or no damage to the PTFETubing. You do need a 4,1mm drill to ensure the main hole will take the PTFE tubing. There are two nuts, the smaller, round one is perfect for most applications and can hold the tubing firmly when tightened by hand. The "nut" version can be tightened with spanners, but be careful not to break the fingers on the main part. The M10*M1.5 version has a coarser thread that may be stronger. There is a spacer that allows this to be used as a "Back to Back" coupling.
