Delta5 v2 Timer Modular Case

Delta5 v2 Timer Modular Case

Description

This is designed for the Delta5 FPV race timer project by Scott Chin. This is module case for the V2 board that can be stacked to support 4 or 8 (or more) receiver nodes. This case is a functional model that was designed by Mathieu Durant (Kurzaq FPV), a helpful pilot in my MultiGP FPV racing chapter, Hub City Rotors. It was designed specifically to solve a heat problem we were experiencing with a more compact case that was causing critical RSSI drift. Mathieu's case allows for two 70mm fans, but I also use heat sinks on the RaspBerry Pi and the video receiver modules. The slot with 2 holes is designed for a panel mount USB extension - I use this to remote mount a WiFi adapter for my specific application. I added banana connector posts to mine to support a 12V remote battery, a 7.2A in my case - it lasts the day. To assemble the components, they simply snap together. The photo provided is of an earlier version that used screws. You may need to use fasteners to fully secure the parts. The Pi plate part is a mounting option for the RaspBerry Pi. I didn't end up using it and just mounting mine to the case bottom using standoffs. The designer intended it to be mounted under one of the receiver boards. The receiver boards are mounted with hot glue at each corner. It holds the boards securely and is easily removed.
