Edge-lit sign

Edge-lit sign

Description

I designed this project for my kids and their friends with the idea of combining 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics and a little bit of science into a simple project. The base is made of two 3D printed parts and the sign itself is laser cut from transparent acrylic. The design can be engraved onto the sign or partially cut into it (in the sign shown the design was partially cut in). The base houses [a strip of LEDs](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warm-White-5-metre-reel-of-LED-strip-5mm-wide-60-SMD-per-metre/112386371055) that are powered by an external [12V "wall wart" power supply](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-AC-Power-Adapter-12V-Supply-2a-amp-regulated-Wall-Wart-Charger-5-5-mm-2-5-mm/272385726552). I've supplied a blank design for the sign as well as the "ANDY" design pictured which uses the [Space Ranger Chrome](https://www.dafont.com/space-ranger.font) font by [Dan Zadorozny](http://www.iconian.com).
