CR-10 5015 Blower Brackets for Part #2512203

EDIT: So this mod may actually require a 24V or 110V bed to work. I'm finding that on my setup even 50% fan speed is enough to cool the bed over time from 75 C. EDIT3: I've thrown together a manifold which joins the blower outputs and produces a vortex of air under the nozzle. It needs some shaving to fit the blowers, but it fits the printer really nicely. My test with it showed my bed really can't maintain 70 C with over 40% fan speed. Now that's what I call cooling! V2 of the manifold has a different opening geometry which I haven't tested. Use at your own risk. OG Post: This is an add-on for part #2512203 which is an E3D V6 mount for the CR-10. My part is only the 5015 brackets and the mount from part #2512203 will be needed as well. I decided the 40mm fans from part #2512203 just weren't enough so I made these brackets to replace them with a pair of 5015 blowers. This mod enables cooling capabilities so intense your heated bed might not be able to maintain temperature. An insulated hotend is a must and an AC bed would be a good idea. Seriously though, I would recommend only running these at 50% or so. You'll get tons of cooling that way and you can tell your slicer to ramp them up just for bridges and overhangs. While testing a PETG overhang with a 75 C bed temp I found that even 50% was enough to cool the bed over time. The hotend heatsink fan I used is from part #2449326, though any heatsink fan for an E3D V6 should work. I got the blowers from Amazon [ https://amzn.to/2BgVc56 ]. Please note that the connectors on these may be reversed from a standard power connector and will need to be reversed if you have connectors on your harness already. This is of course irrelevant if you're going to cut and solder the wires directly. The blowers are mounted with 25mm long M4 bolts and nuts. The hardware for mounting the brackets to the E3D V6 mount is the same as the hardware for part #2512203 (M3 screws).
