AnyCubic Kossel Linear Plus E3D V6 Mount

AnyCubic Kossel Linear Plus E3D V6 Mount

Description

I did this mount after printing a few others I had found because none of them really held the V6 stable. So the biggest improvement to this mount is that it supports the V6 heatsink all the way down instead of just at the groove mount. This makes it rock solid and provides a lot of structural strength as well by interlocking both halves around the V6. The other thing I did was to keep the stock fans. A radial fan just doesn't work for parts cooling with the restricted path. Right now I'm just allowing the stock 4010 blower to run downdraft until I model a nozzle that will clear the larger V6 block and heater while still allowing the auto leveling probe to attach. The improved airflow on the extruder cooling fan works exceptionally well, much better than stock. You can feel the air coming out of the exhaust ports a good distance from the extruder so this should dramatically improve consistency. Of course I can't take all the credit there, the V6's all metal heat break that the PTFE inserts into the top of does make a dramatic difference in reliability. For screws I used the stock M3 screws in the bottom just threaded into the ABS. I used regular M3 screws to join the halves as well. These are countersunk to fit behind the blower so use something with a head that isn't too big. For the fans, the extruder fan can use the stock M3 screws as well. On the blower the stock screws are too small so I used some small 2/56 wood screws to get a little better bite in the plastic but pretty much anything that fits will work. Printing Details: I printed this out of ABS but I would expect most any durable material will work fine as it doesn't get hot on that side of the effector. I printed the halves with their exposed L & R face laying down on the print bed. The left side is the only side that supports help on. I used supports just for the overhang on the fan intake. All of the screw holes are small enough that supports just cause unnecessary cleanup. Edit: 6/22/2019 I added a cooling fan nozzle that will work with the stock fan as well as working with a 50x15 blower using the included adaptor. The cooling is so good that I rarely ever use my two giant fixed mounted blowers on either side of the bed. I also tossed in some clips that can be used on the top of the mount as well as clipping on one of your rods to for cable management.
