JGaurora A5 X-carriage for E3D V6 hotend
Description
The stock carriage was a bad design: it's heavy (defeating the purpose of a bowden extruder) and the heatsink is located too high, causing jams because of a long cooling transition. I had several jams on mine. This conversion kit improves on those issues. It might fix stringing as well. All you need is a V6. You can reuse the m3 screws from stock to clamp the heatsink and hold in the belt. You just need to undo the screw-glued screws from the x-carriage somehow (disclaimer: do this at own risk. might void warranty. good luck--I barely got mine off). The belts go in the same way as the stock one does. It takes a 40mm fan (I opted for a 2-in-1 cooling design otherwise it would take too much space. You can't spread out sideways or it will hit the sides) and bltouch (30mm, -30mm, about -2mm offset from nozzle for x, y, z). note you may need to step the voltage down for the fan because it takes 24v. update: no longer updating this. bought an ender 3 to replace this (it's a lot easier to maintain) and I no longer have an A5.
