Description

Remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2829192. This project can be found on https://github.com/ruhliar/FALCON-HEAVY-NIGHTLIGHT-V2 This project is using a file from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456900 I scaled all models up 200%, added magnets and 2x 18650 battery + charge, protect, boost. I programmed Arduino Nano so you can chose from 3 main LED programs or the same, with stronger light. Print rocket at 100% infill Exhaust at 0% infill with 3 perimeters BOM: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10PCS-Lot-2-Pin-12V-Car-Boat-Round-Dot-Light-ON-OFF-Rocker-Toggle-Switch-Tool/391842691497?hash=item5b3ba4f9a9:g:8GkAAOSwzVxZbc9Q&vxp=mtr https://www.ebay.com/itm/1W-3W-High-Power-cool-warm-white-3000k-4000k-10000k-30000k-LED-20mm-star-pcb/321471559197?hash=item4ad932b61d:m:m9FF_32EUKYGAQ_1yJ7jQFA https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-10PCS-TP4056-5V-1A-USB-18650-Lithium-Battery-Charger-Board-Protection-Module/132530522140?hash=item1edb6f481c:m:mNCWPaYBU_E8lNnNTsm26Kg https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-2-4-6-8-10-12-16X-18650-Batterie-9800mAh-Li-ion-rechargeable-Battery-Flat-top/142882388958?hash=item2144743bde:m:mHs907xNj-pjtqDpT5iz_kw https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-Micro-USB-2-24V-To-5-28V-Boost-Step-Up-Regulator-Power-Module-2A-Adjustable/292462870496?hash=item4418253fe0:g:u6IAAOSwvv9Zfk4B https://www.ebay.com/itm/1PCS-mini-USB-Nano-V3-0-ATmega328P-CH340G-5V-16M-micro-controller-Arduino/191773759569?hash=item2ca69b5851:g:aHAAAOSwLN5WiNjA https://www.ebay.com/itm/50PCS-S8050-S8050D-8050-TRANSISTOR-NPN-25V-1-5A-TO-92-FSC-S/191880503222?hash=item2cacf81fb6:g:7LgAAOSwTdJXRKTf https://www.ebay.com/itm/10PCS-Double-Side-Prototype-PCB-Bread-board-Tinned-Universal-FR4-2x8cm-9x15cm/201677782881?hash=item2ef4eebf61:m:mxKpo4qgsrfbFJvZnl1CA9Q After printing the rocket I drilled 9mm holes to rocket's bottom so I was able to insert and glue 2 of 8x3mm round magnets inside. after all that was done I used various sandpapers, spray filler and white spray to hide all the magnets and layers. Next, I've glued magnets with matching pole of magnets on the rocket to exhaust with superglue. I tested all the electronics and code on breadboard and after that was done, I soldered everything on piece of prototyping perfboard. I set up the battery pack with cheap modules that provided charge protect and boost functions and after testing everything together I noticed that the step-up module was making some quiet, weird sound. I tied adding a 100uF 50v capacitor to its output and the noise magically disappeared. Now I have a very good looking model of Falcon Heavy rocket lighting my room at night.
