UPDATE 9/8/2018 The fan works great and does not get hot enough to worry me. I had to put the fan inside the wind tunnel to get more cooling, so it will be exposed to whatever fumes I throw at it. I also posted a pic of the original design so everybody can avoid the mistake of not having enough air flow around the motor. Enjoy and post a make please! ---------------------------- I needed a exhaust fan, but instead of going the standard route (12/24V fan), I decided to go with a squirrel cage design running on 120V. <a href="https://www.lowes.com/pd/Broan-4-Sone-50-CFM-White-Bathroom-Fan/1076121">Lowes' cheapest bathroom fan is $14.50</a>, but you can buy <a href="https://www.lowes.com/pd/Broan-Metal-Bath-Fan-Motor/1092217">the motor and impeller for $17.99</a> if you don't want to take apart the fan. Yes, the motor is more expensive than then whole bathroom fan. The outlet is approximately 3", so you can attach <a href="https://www.lowes.com/pd/IMPERIAL-3-in-x-96-in-Foil-Flexible-Duct/4566290">a flexible fan duct which you can buy at Lowes for $9</a>. Printed it in PLA, with the feet on the bed with supports touching the build plate and brim. Print the body with support touching build plate. Print the lid. Assemble and attach lid however you like (superglue, tape, whatever). To note, I used a strip of aluminium can between the motor and the body mount to dissipate heat. Not sure that it is needed, but it was easy to add.
