Anet A8 Electronics Case
Description
This is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2742130 It's a fully self-contained electronics box for the Anet A8 -- it houses the main board, an upgraded 30A power supply, the LCD control board, two mosfets, includes ports for a USB and SD card extension cables, and a 12V 80mm fan. I liked Jaro's original design, but it has some problems; several screw holes are poorly aligned, it's significantly oversized (mine is ~40% smaller), and it makes the reset button inaccessible. My redesign fixes all those problems. I also made a few aesthetic changes, I added the option of a recessed/extruded ANET A8 logo, as well as the option to use an SD or MicroSD card reader extension port, and an LCD faceplate with and without graphical buttons. Also included is a "junction box" that mounts on the side of the printer where the cable's can go. You'll need some additional hardware to go with it: 80x80x25mm 12V Fan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N1Y50QQ/ 3ft USB-B (F) to USB-B (M) Extension Cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FSYBKPM/ 12V,30A DC Power Supply (360W) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D7CWSCG/ 2x MOSFETs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XY5HBFX/ Power Socket (10A,250V) w/ Switch & 5A Fuse https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNMT3WL/ MicroSD to SD Card Extension Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XY5QB2Z/ --Alternate-- MicroSD to MicroSD Card Extension Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072X27V58/ Optionally, I also chose to put little stick-on rubber feet on the bottom so it wouldn't slide around. You'll also need to build some extension cables for the motors, end-stop switches, fans, and thermistor: JST-XH Connector Kit (2.54mm Pitch) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CH7ZTRB/ 26AWG Electrical Wire https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G2LRX68/ I made mine 3ft (1m) long so I could move the box out of the way on my table. In case you're worried, voltage drop and increased resistance/inductance are negligible over a few feet, so there's no need to worry about that.
