Wyze Cam Universal Print Bed Mount & Smaller Print Version

Wyze Cam Universal Print Bed Mount & Smaller Print Version

Description

UPDATE: Added quick remix of smaller printable version which preserves the roughly 50mm height used to cushion the camera from any hotbed heat. *MIGHT* be printable on 100mm volume printers, but not sure. WARNING: I have not tested the smaller version. I literally finished remixing the model 5 minutes ago. ******* I'm a huge fan of two distinct additions for 3d printing. 1) timelapses. 2) real time monitoring to reduce waste in the event of print failure. Enter the Wyze Cam. Now I have no affiliation with this company at all, I just like their cameras. I own 3 now. One pictured, one for watching the dogs while everyone's away, and one for watching the porch because some neighbors have expressed concerns about package theft (has not happened, but for $25, I'll accept a preventative measure). Using the rails from the camera mount I set as the remixed item, I put this thing up with the hopes it'd be very easy on filament and print time. Unfortunately, my first attempt proved that wasn't going to be the case, as the first try was too narrow and the rail for the camera itself stuck too far into the print bed. It would block the X axis crossbar from descending fully during an Auto Home move. Finally accepted stretching this thing once I was comfortable with how secure the spring clamps proved to be. Here's a link to the clamps I have purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074XJ71JL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They've proven quite useful, so a multipack may serve you well in future unexpected applications. Additional Notes: With 25% infill in the "stars" pattern, 5 shells on all sides, and using the Octagram Spiral surface infill setting from Slic3r, this thing took roughly 13hours and 40 minutes to print. It's very sturdy. If you use Slic3r, I will actually recommend printing with Adaptive Slicing enabled. Seems to be very effective. Also, I recommend printing it on it's back.
