Vertex K8400 - standard fan shroud
Description
*24-3-2019: Added "isolator only" version* - see below! A first version, I think, of a shroud for the standard K8400 front cooling fan, using it's unaltered position. Most shroud solutions I've found online so far, include a re-positioning of the fan - I'm thinking it might be possible to improve the cooling process, while leaving this fan in it's original position...? This model is an attempt to capture & channel the flow, that was directed towards lower sections of the print, to the area at & directly below the nozzle(s). For mounting the shroud on the fan, I used a low-strength glue. STEP source file included - to allow modifications, should you want to make those. (Should there be another iteration of this model, I'll probably add it to this entry as an extra file). *Edited on 30-9-2018: Vertex K8400 dual shroud - standard vent - snap-on* Right... Turns out, the shroud is working pretty well in focussing the airflow to the nozzles & the area just below it? Prints seem to have better cooling, but also - when doing a filament change - the nozzle now needs to put in more effort to reach the standard 210°C, causing this procedure to take longer. So, I figured, I'd better change the model to sort of a snap-on execution - so you can click it onto the standard fan, when needed. (Or remove it, when preferred). *Edited on 24-3-2019: Added Vertex K8400 dual shroud - isolator only - snap-on* As requested in the comments, I've added a modified version of the shroud that should cool the isolators only. This model has not yet been tested by myself.
