Raster container for drying silicagel using a cylindrical food dehydrator
Description
This raster container is designed to ensure that rechargable silicagel can easily be loaded without spilling. The container is mainly a raster to allow for the air flow from the food dehydrator, and 4 containers makes a full circle - a convenient size to handle. A thin placeholder is included for easy alignment within the dehydrator (without the placeholder, it can become tricky to add the next drying layer). Included in the design is a lid with an open edge, which makes unloading of silicagel from the containers straight forward without any spilling. Obviously, only one lid is needed, only the containers you need to print in multiple copies. The design is set up so, that the containers and the lid are all stackable (lid downmost) in case you care for space. Or, why not just leave them in the dehydrator? A small support at the center of each placeholder-matching hole must gently be broken first time the items are stacked (the support is to prevent sagging during print). I use a no name brand dehydrator, found (in Sweden) at "Clas Ohlson", as far as I know it is the same form factor as eg. the "Severin" brand. Performance is less than indicated, so I use full power all the time. As my dryer has poor drying effect close to the center of the dryer, I increased the inner radius. You might have to adjust the radius for inner edge, outer edge and placeholder in order to match your dehydrator. Also, all parts are printed thin, as I see no particular reason for making them extremely sturdy. However, this can be easily adjusted by changing the thickness parameter.
