3rd Century AD Roman stone head at Lancaster Museum

Description

This is a scan I did when I visited the excellent Lancaster City Museum. It was described as a 3rd Century AD Roman stone head. I'm no expert, but I'd guess this is another funerary carving based on the Cult of Attis, as it looks very similar to other ones I've seen. More info on Lancaster City Museum can be found at the link below (so no excuse not to go and visit them :-) https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/museums/lancaster-city-museum/
