3D printer controller box with current sensor

3D printer controller box with current sensor

Description

This is a housing for a powered Arduino Pro Mini to control a 3D printer power supply as well as the filament cooling while monitoring the current draw of the printer. I developed this in order to have the ability to power the 3D printer on and off, power the filament cooling fan on and off, and monitor the current draw of the printer. I'll program my home controller (openhab, but I use node red) to monitor the printer current in order to power down the both plugs (printer and cooler) once printing is complete and the current draw drops. Here's the post that has instructions for the bulid http://homeautomation.proboards.com/thread/523/joshs-thread-rfm-builts-cases Backstory: Starting with the Instructables post by Eric Tsai (https://twitter.com/Eric_1100). I found inspiration with DIY home automation. Computourist (https://github.com/computourist/RFM69-MQTT-client) cleaned up the programming and added the ability to transmit to end nodes. Then I found a great forum that has simplified the build and offers a great community http://homeautomation.proboards.com/post/2053/thread This is my attempt to contribute back to the http://homeautomation.proboards.com/ community High voltage power supplies present a serious risk of personal injury if not used in accordance with design and/or use specifications, if used in applications on products for which they are not intended or designed, or if they are used by untrained or unqualified personnel.
