Minelab Explorer Battery Pack
Description
Update 9/30/2018: Working prototype! Still need to edit the original as the model is too long and i had to clip some off to get it to fit. I just used screws for the contacts to the unit as well as the positive contact for the batteries. For the rear connection, i just used a battery spring I had laying around from something else. Got a Minelab Explorer II and it came without the factory battery pack, and saw that they want like $100 for one that is basically just rechargeable AA's. Couldn't find an online model for the battery pack, so decided to bust out OpenSCAD and make my own from measurements of the AA battery pack I have. This is a work in progress! It's set to use 3x18650 batteries (I got mine from some old laptop batteries). What I still have to work out: 1. The clip mechanism that holds the battery pack in and also allows you to pull it out. (I will most likely just redo the clip from [This Model](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3002766) 2. What to use to make the 2 contact points for the battery pack and the Minelab 3. A slot or groove to route the wire from the back of the pack to the front 4. Whether I want to leave space for a metal spring, or do some cool 3d printed spring for the battery connection. P.S. This will be customizable eventually for diff preferences, but for now I don't have it turned on.
