CNC corner hold-downs
Description
I've been experimenting with ways of holding thin sheets of material, like plywood for example, in position on the bed of my cheap Chinese CNC, but with the option of having it raised a few millimetres clear of the metal base. So I came up with these two designs that do just that, with chamfers to help keep the sheet from moving upward during milling. For laser cutting these two hold-downs are probably enough to hold the sheet. But for routing anything other than very small sheets of thicker material, they probably need to be used with another two clamps so that all corners can be held down. Also, the designs may need adjusting for your use, so the OpenSCAD file is included here too. If you're also interested in edge hold-downs, in the same style as the models here, you can find my page for them at this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3138679 And if you're interested you can also read my blog-post about this project at the link below. https://cncmakerzone.co.uk/cnc-hold-downs-using-a-3d-printer Edit 5th October 2018: Following the excellent idea by wa7npx (https://www.thingiverse.com/wa7npx) I've added a third model here. It's a fixed corner hold-down with an angled bolt-down plate.
