G0704 CNC Mill Limit Switch Mounts

G0704 CNC Mill Limit Switch Mounts

Description

This is a set of limit switch mounts for the Grizzly G0704 mill. I created these for my CNC conversion. A video tour of the CNC conversion, including these limit switch mounts is here: https://youtu.be/1vnn_5tAmnM?t=1080 Note that the mounting holes in the G0704 mill appear to be hand-drilled at the factory. Some of the screw holes that I used were not symmetrical--especially the threaded lock holes on the front of the saddle. These parts are designed to fit my mill, but you might have to adjust or enlarge some of the mounting holes to make them fit your mill. The X and Y limit switches are in a single bracket, and this bracket has no single flat side. To print it, i split it into two parts, printed the separately, and then glued them together with model cement. You will note that there are a couple of small holes on each part. These are for 1.75mm alignment pins. You can just clip two short pieces of 1.75mm filament and insert these to line the parts up for gluing. The Z limit switch mount is designed to position the limit switch so it is triggered by one of the screws on the top of the double ballnut. This is specific to the Hoss CNC conversion, but can probably be adjusted for other screw designs. All of the switches are mounted with M2.5 screws. Just run an M2.5 tap through the holes to form threads for mounting. Both parts are designed to accept Amphenol CPC connectors, but I have included an STL for an adapter to mount GX16 "Aviation" connectors instead. I used the GX16 connectors for my installation. The holes are sized to mount the CPC connectors (or the adapters) with M3 screws. Just run an M3 tap through the holes to thread them and then screw the connectors or adapter plates on.
