Universal - filament spool enclosure - wall & desktop - moisture protection
Description
Universal - filament spool enclosure - wall & desktop - moisture protection If you print this project, and you are happy with the final part, do not forget to buy me a roll of filament, or at least few meters - in order for me to be able continue to test and improve these projects or to design new ones! If you are not happy with this design or you have problem with your printed parts - send me a message, we will try to fix it together! :) If you do not want or you can't afford to buy me a roll of filament ... its ok, I still hope you enjoy printing my designs! Pace! Compatible with any printer using regular filament spools. Require 300X300 print bed Update 22 OCT See what version of the compression ring, plug and nut works for you. NEW DESIGN! 21 OCT TEST OK - on a similar part ( Identical draw for the lid and box ) ! LID - print OK! BOX - print OK! CR10, n 0.4, f-asa, n245c, b110c, lh 0.2, if 60%,wt 1mm, tbt 1mm, f 0%, print in enclosed space Box and Lid they fit well, however, all print imperfections need to be clean! I use a wire brush, I am to lazy to use a small cleaning tool! Lesson learn - for a thread this size - 0.4mm gap between threads... not enough! 0.6mm probably more recommended! I was not that happy with the bowden connection, therefore... I design a fast coupling for the bowden tube! Connections not in use need to be plug in! A set off a NUT, COMPRESION RING and PLUG need to be printed for each connection (7 sets) A Nut, a Compresion Ring and a Plug get into a Bar... 19 OCT A new version of the enclosure - with a different entrance angle - to prevent tension on filament when is used more than half of the spool! On the shaft enclosure can be deposit the silica-gel bag what come with filament spool! A similar LID was tested - print OK! Test the thread with the box printed before - OK! CR10, n 0.4, f-asa, n245c, b110c, lh 0.2, if 60%,wt 1mm, tbt 1mm, f 0%, print in enclosed space 12 OCT Forth version! (box light wall 4) It have also a connection perpendicular to the base surface, therefore can be used by those having the spool on top of the printer too. Third version The coupling connections are extended with 2mm and it come also with a new lid - window version. For those who can print transparent parts - I add a part what can be printed... for the rest of us... the mortals... is a 0.5mm template what can be printed and used to mark on a 2mm Plexiglas! Unfortunately this new lid version do not have anymore the Peace and Love sign! 11 Oct - Second version comes with a back bracket to increase the strength, and two more optional connections. All connections have a 4 mm "plug". Based on your required filament exit position - drill and tap-thread to mount the Fast Connection Bowden Tube. My fast coupling have thread of 3/8.in.(9.5252mm) and a length of 6mm. If the size of your Fast Connection Bowden Tube differ... choose a drill bit accordingly! https://www.newmantools.com/tapdrill.htm After the 4mm plug/wall is a D - 9mm section (6mm long) followed by a D - 4mm channel; therefore drill carefully with a Q (???mm) drill-bit and tap-thread using the no 3 (tap bits come usually in set of 3). Do not exceed the 4+6mm length for the thread!!! If you do not have a bowden fast coupling connection, or you do not want to bother to tap-thread the connection, just drill a 4mm hole and insert and glue on position a bowden tube. If the size of your Bowden Tube differ... choose a drill bit accordingly! If you do not have a bowden tube, just drill a hole!
