Dog Tag Prayer

Description

I saw this prayer on a bumper-sticker one day, and loved it at first sight. So much so that I remembered it until a couple of YEARS later when I happened across that same sticker being sold at a local holistic animal care place.....called Holistic Animal Care. (Great place, BTW.) I don't own a car, so I bought it and just framed it. xD Because......that's some powerful stuff----invoking your dog's opinion of you and then trying to live-up to it for real. I seriously think that my border-collie believed that I could make the sun rise, and that at times he was barking at me to complain that it was dark outside as if I could do something about it. Makes a goofy kind of sense really, since he probably observed that I could make it bright indoors-----so why not outdoors? xD xD xD So, have you been kind, wonderful, amazing, fun to be with, caring, selfless, awesome, strong and beautiful on the inside, compassionate, knowledgeable, friendly, wise, forgiving, honest, loyal, patient, heroic, energetic, never too busy, and always knowing where to get the good eats? No? 1 out of 20? Haha! Then maybe this convenient little reminder to be so, hanging from your keys or "collar" everyday, is for you! There was also a "cat" equivalent bumper-sticker for sale in the Holistic Animal Care place, but I'm SURE that the original designer didn't think that alternate version all of the way through..... <i>"Lord, help me to be the person my CAT thinks I am,"??!!!</i> DIDN'T THEY CONSIDER WHAT CATS' OPINIONS OF US HUMUNS ARE?! At best our feline masters consider us fondly as their host of servants, and at worst they think we're just walking, talking can-openers, seat-warmers, and litter-box scoopers! xD UPDATE: Couldn't make up my mind before whether or not to allow commercial use of this piece..... Well, alright, go ahead ye Etsy tycoons and indy-artists! This is a great message, and IMO the more people reminding themselves of it, the better. Our dogs love us for who we're SUPPOSED to be----but can't always be there to remind us, even perhaps when we might need it the most.... You know, whenever we're NOT being the kindest, most awesome fun people on the planet. As my very wise uncle once put it, according to my grandmother: "The only thing wrong with dogs is that they die." I've been a grumpy, sour, brooding workaholic ever since my border-collie passed in 2015. I definitely need this prayer hanging around my neck. Given that he was a border-collie, that also would mean I'd have to exercise more to live up to his expectations; border-collies are workaholics, too, and the OPPOSITE of couch-potatoes! Gotta stay in top shape for when I can finally get another one someday!!!
