Customizable Flip Flop
Description
This is a flip flop, with anchors to fix the strings and a perforated sole, ideal to keep in your sport bag or to bring with you on lightweight travelling. You can change the thickness and modify the shape to match exactly your foot and preferences. To do that is not too complicated... First you have to put a sheet of paper under your foot and with a pencil draw the contour of it and mark a point between your big tow and the second toe where the strings will attach. You can select to show the points as in the picture attached, just set the Edit_mode parameter to 3. Draw a horizontal line and a vertical one starting from P1. Now draw 3 horizontal lines (it is not important the distance between them, just space them roughly equal). You have now your reference points and you can fill in the parameters of the customizer, either online or if you downloaded the file in Openscad customizer, or just change them in the file itself if your openscad version do not have the customizer. Now open the customizer and set Edit_mode to 3. All the points are shown in the rendering window, with each ones coordinates. In the parameters you have the contour fixed points section, fill it in and after you need to adjust the Control Point, just by moving them around a bit. To have a perfect curve joint, the lines arriving and leaving the contour fixed point should be as straight as possible. When that's done, you have to position the anchor points for the strings, this is mainly a matter of preference as you will add the string later, the important is to place the forward one in the correct position that you marked before. Done, you've got a tailor made flip flop !!! Print with flexible filament. In the example the sole thickness is 2mm so it's going to be a solid print and so only relatively soft depending on your filament, but if you choose something over 4mm and use low infill, the sole will be very soft and confortable. I suggest to reduce the speed when printing the anchors for the strings as TPU is not too good at bridging.
