M548 (Body 1/3)

M548 (Body 1/3)

Description

INTRODUCTION
This is the front part of the body for the M548 RC 1/10 scale model. I have design it in order to be printed in a 200x200 mm printer (the most common). Everything is my own design exept the front lights which I have to thank to my friend <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/cooperino/about/"title="Cooperino">Cooperino who make a fantastic desing work =D. I've tested the model and, although it is not finished yet, it seems to work propperly. You can see it working in the following links:

M548 Test 1.

M548 Test 2.

M548 Test 3.

M548 Test 4.

The model is not finished yet. For example, the doors can be glued if you want, but my idea is to make them functional with a pair of hinges and two neodymium magnets (you will see the holes to intall the magnets at the doors and body). Moreover, I recommend not to glue the roof because I would also want to make the interior parts with seats and driving levers. If you glue everything, you won't be able to install those parts in the future (or it will be more difficult).
ASSEMBLY

FreeCAD
I'm very proud to say that the entire design has been done using FreeCAD opensource software. I must thank all the developers. Without you, this project wouldn't be possible!! To make the assemble easier to understand, I've included the FreeCAD assembly files where you can see in detail, how to come all the parts together. If you want to download this software for free and visualize the assemble, you can do it in the following link:
FreeCAD official page FreeCAD.
I recommend to glue all the parts together and use the bolts and nuts just to make the assemble even stronguer.
Hardware
In order to assemble all the parts of the chassis, you will need the following stuff:

14 X 10mm M3 bolt (ISO7046)

12 X M3 nut (ISO4032)

12 X M3 Washers

In the FreeCAD assembly file called "Ensamblaje Carroceria Delantera" you will find all the pieces you need to print in order to build all the parts. That is why I highly reccomend to download and use FreeCAD for visualization.
PARTS

M548 Chassis.

M548 Gearbox.

M548 Wheels & Suspension.
