YAC (yet another cartesian)

YAC (yet another cartesian)

Description

30-06-2019: Still working on it, i've done some massive rework on Z and X axis, and completed electronic boxes, i've uploaded a render to see the progress. Hope to finish it quickly to share all files. The project went so far my original expectations, so i've decided to change the name too. The main purpose is simple, i wanted to build a cartesian style around the components i already own, so from the render you can see the result. The other pieces i've made are all tested and work just fine. Stay tuned for updates! :) General informations ==================== So, for the printer's frame i've used: * 2x 400mm 2040 * 4x 420mm 2040 * 3x 380mm 2020 Dimension it's really up to you, i've used these because i previously owned. Plus a lot of angles to retain all the extrusions togheter Nuts are M4 usually, except for the linear rails that needs M3 bolts and nuts. The Z frame is attached to the base with the two Z motor mounts and are stucked in place by 17 M4 screws each, need to test it yet but i'm sure it will be really strong. With this frame dimensions you can easily reach 310x310mm print surface, probably 250mm on Z. PSU and electronics are, as you can see from render, screwd to the Z frame and frame bracket, the electronic's box itself is designed for SKR 1.3, but is also compatible with MKS GEN L, plus there's holes to fit a raspberry pi 3B+, PT100 amplification board, 5V stepdown and and external MOSFET for heated bed. i'm planning to add a nozzle wipe tool and an lcd cover. Updates ==================== * 02-04-2019 Added: + .DXF file to aluminum cut the bed support + frame bracket + PSU bracket and cover + Y endstop holder * 28-04-2019 added foot stl
