Pellet Extruder - Prototype

Pellet Extruder - Prototype

Description

THIS IS A PROTOTYPE/CONCEPT. I HAVE NOT PRINTED THIS. I DO NOT VALIDATE THAT THIS WORKS, YET :). I made this design to promote a new concept of "open source" pellet extruder. I designed this with easy commercial items to reduce costs. If you know about other material that would better the design, please share :). It uses commercially available 12V 40W-50W heaters. If you use 24V, you can probably put 2 in parallel. otherwise, a mofset for the extruders or another power supply may be required. A spinner ball bearing is used as well. I´m not very sure if these nozzles can withstand the pressure from the plastic coming out. I was planning to metal print some nozzles as well. http://bit.ly/2PHd7oC THINGS TO CONSIDER: All plastic parts should join metal parts with epoxy glue to maximize stiffness. Many people told me that the design would need more cooling or fewer heaters.
