Original Prusa MK2.4 Extruder
Description
Update (27 May 2019): The previous error with the bearing depth in the x-carriage has now been fixed. Updated STL and STEP files have now been uploaded. This is a remix of Vecko's amazing MK3 extruder and x carriage design that is fully compatible with the MK2/S. You won't need to purchase any additional hardware apart from the noctua fan and maybe an assortment of M3 screws and nuts. It has been designed to work with the MK2's hobbed pulley, idler bearing, and bearing pin, however I will note the belt alignment is made to accommodate a 16T idler pulley, not the stock 20T The following changes have been made: - Extruder geometry changed to accomodate hobbed pulley (by klystron) - Cleaning up of the inside of the extruder - Cleaning up some fillets and chamfers for a more uniform design - Completely redesigned idler to accomodate original MK2 625 idler bearing and bearing pin - PINDA probe offset adjustment (the MK2 and MK3 have different PINDA offsets) - Redesigned PINDA holder - Redesigned x carriage to bring the nozzle 1.85mm back in the y axis so that it is the same as the MK2. - This also required editing the x carriage back and adjusting the belt slot depth on the x carriage - Removed all filament sensor geometry - The filament sensor cover has been retained so that it can be used in the future as a mount for a pneumatic connector in a reverse bowden setup, but the screw positioning on it has been adjusted for a cleaner look. - Added endstop trigger This design calls for a 49.5mm long PTFE tube in the main part that connects to the hotend, and a 20mm long PTFE tube at the top of the extruder body. It has not yet been tested, so use at your own risk. Make sure to keep a close eye on your printer during calibration procedures. Update (5/11/18): An issue was found with the extruder cover and extruder body parts where they overlap in the design and are therefore unable to be assembled. This has now been corrected with new extruder cover and extruder body parts. Update (29/11/18): The x carriage file was slightly edited in the cable guide area behind the hotend fan to ensure that all geometry was touching the first layer. Thanks to MonkeyTurnip for pointing this out!
