X-Axis Snap On Level Tool i3 Prusia Wanhao Monoprice
Description
Level Tool for leveling your X axis rods to the Y Axis rods. Created these to be used in a pair. There are several designs out there to do this, but a lot of those tools fall off easily and are meant to stay under the rods as you adjust. Giving you a greater chance at bending your rods. So I created these to make life a bit easier. For ease of use they will lightly snap around the Y axis rods so they keep position. To give myself the best chance at not bending a rod I use a curved shape on the part that goes under the X axis. This is to be swung under the X axis to check the height, and out of the way when adjusting the X axis USE: 1. Snap the tools onto the Y axis, I like to do this near the frame so I have no risk of bending the Y axis Rods. 2. Raise the Z axis above the tools. 3. Slide tools until they are under the X axis rods then rotate them to the sides so they are out of the way. 4. Bring the Z axis down, swinging the tool back and forth to check the height, until it makes contact. 5. Release the motors so you can manually adjust each Z screw. 6. Then manually adjust each Z screw until both tools just touch the X axis Rods as you swing them back and forth. Remember if you adjust one side more than a degree or two, the other side will need to be readjusted also. Also don't leave the tool directly under the X axis rods as you adjust the Z screw (have it swung to the side), you risk bending your rods. 7. After your X axis is level, slide the tools back toward the frame and remove them. This is not customizable. But I did include many different lengths. But is for use the 8mm rods only. Also this should lightly snap around the rod. If it snaps to tightly it will make it difficult to fell it touch the x axis rods easily. You may have to adjust your printing settings to get the proper fit. Credit to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:280974 leveling tool, I got the idea for the shape from it.
