MPSM v1 NEMA 17 Z Bearing Plate and Stabilizers
Description
When I was in the process of upgrading the Z stepper motor to a NEMA 17 with integrated lead screw, I decided to move the extruder stepper outside the tower and to put a stabilizer bearing at the top. When designing the carrier for the bearing, I figured I'd just utilize the existing mounts for the z-axis rods as the anchors. This does away with the need for the stabilizers I had been using as they are now part of the plate itself. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1775502 Overall the whole assembly feels much sturdier. You *might* need to use a drill bit to clear any imperfections out of the holes, since I've had a little variation in sizes due to filament types, print nozzle/resolution, etc. The extruder stepper relocation to the top should be facilitated by placing M3 hex nuts in the 3 of 4 holes aligned with the existing extruder mount hole. This should allow attachment of a 90-degree bracket on top using three of the existing holes. The bearing used for the upper stabilizer is a 608ZZ.
