Tekwar Pulse Gun - Orlow 34S

Tekwar Pulse Gun - Orlow 34S

Description

Well it has been a (very) long time coming but I lost the original file and had to start over again, but here is my take on the larger of the 2 pulse guns used in the Tekwar Movies. From memory it was only used in movies Tekwar, Teklords and Tekjustice (albeit only seen briefly in Tekjustice) but it was probably the chunkiest and coolest looking future weapon. "Technically non lethal" unless you look at the game it which case it can make a mess of someone. And I have made this fully functional as seen in the movies; the handle folds and slides, the sight on top can be raised and lowered, the front barrel can slide as well as the grip on teh barrel can slide too. This prop also made a brief appearance towards the end of the first season of Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict, but will always be tied to Tekwar, in my mind. There are a lot of parts to this and I did take a guess at what to name them, but generally all you need to worry about is that if it has an "x2"after the part name, you need 2 of them. I did have to redesign the mechanism which holds and allows the front part of the gun to slide (as in the movies) and getting this function to work was a little challenging. I am happy for someone to redesign this part to be easier to use. I have also included the graphic for the screen (as best as I could make out from low res movie shots and a youtube video made by a guy who picked up the retired prop at a props auction (I think). And to top it all off, the stand in the photos is a laser cut pattern I made for an exhibition cut from 6mm acrylic and I have included a DXF of this file as well. This was printed on a Flashforge Guider II, High Quality, so the tolerances are good, but I also allowed a 1/4mm tolerance between parts and at this level of quality, it gave me a good fit. Painting it was using acrylic spray, primed and filled and then painted used a stainless steel colour, metallic midnight blue for teh "coils" etc. Assembly was a challenge but all parts the same colour were assembled, then painted, and then final assembly occuring afterwards. The blue coils and gold middle parts had to be put in as 1 piece into the back part of the gun, the front grip was assembled inot the lower part of the barrel, with the holder inside this part of the barrel before being glued to the silver part of the barrel as well... A little confusing perhaps but hopefully the exploded image assists with assembly. I hope this makes sense. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
