Ossum RC Jeep Rat Rod Rolling Train Kit (with 2 speed gear box)

Ossum RC Jeep Rat Rod Rolling Train Kit (with 2 speed gear box)

Description

OSSUM MB Jeep ratrod remix: This kit should contain the full rolling train parts to convert or built a 2WD jeep with a front solid axle, it is design to fit a 35-36 900KV brushless outrunner motor working on 3 cell. To make this built I used the raised tray, back frame, tub and windshield designed by Intashu. The 2 speed gear box design is borrowed from 3D Anarchy Jeep built and was fully reworked for this model. It has a functional gear stick lever moving during gears change. The gearbox has a larger bottom housing to accommodate larger gears. The dog teeth are also reinforced. Although I first used this model with a fixed 3D printed differential I have now switched to this metal solid axle which is more reliable. To get the correct track I replaced the large stock wheel hex by some thinner ones and I fitted low offset wheels. Please note that this model requires a couple of holes to be made on the chassi frame to fit these parts, I have not redesigned the frame as I though it was not such an issue. For gear box assembly guidelines take a look at the 3D Anarchy Instructable https://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Willys-RC-4X4/ Parts: Intashu Hotrod Conversion Kit (pick at least the rear raised frame, tunnel tub & raised tray) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2442282 Original Ossum model (pick the remaining parts): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2056923 3D Anarchy Model (alternative for the remaining parts with diff, however the front chassi frame won't fit gearbox mount holes, take the Ossum front chassi instead): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2596295 Front wheel (design by Ataylor60): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2158222 Rear axle (this one is can be locked but that doesn't matter): http://www.rcmart.com/aluminum-alloy-diff-adjustable-rear-axle-axial-scx10-p-71096.html?cPath=1102_1495 ESC 45Amp: http://www.rcmart.com/team-powers-tpxpsel-brushless-speed-control-wled-progr-p-66837.html?cPath=1560_1021 ESC 30Amp ( alternative easier to fitin the engine bay): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/F17871-3-Hobbywing-QUICRUN-WP16BL30-WP10BL60-WP8BL150-Speed-Controller-30A-60A-150A-2-6S-Lipo-BEC/32684364798.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.13d34c4d0NDidh Outrunner 910 KV: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/propdrive-v2-3536a-910kv-brushless-outrunner-motor.html?___store=en_us Belt S3M-186: http://m.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=7384 Drive shaft (good quality one here):https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2pcs-Black-Stainless-Steel-Drive-Shaft-Drive-Axle-Transmission-Shaft-93-113mm-RC-Crawlers-Car/32904935541.html?spm=a2g0s.12269583.0.0.3d891fea9R0ut9 Front tires (they are quite hard, not the best but looks scale):https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/2PCS-1-14-SCALE-R-C-TRACTOR-TRUCK-Front-Wide-Tire-2-for-TAMIYA-R470-BENZ/32375640800.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27426c37eE5mGG Rear tires (cheap but some tires are excessively warped!): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4Pcs-RC-1-10-Crawler-Beadlock-Wheels-Tire-1-9-Inch-Wheel-Rim-Tire-98mm-Wheel/32823849938.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dCn78bG Rear shocks (I took those from a drift car, I wish they were not pink!): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Black-Purple-Remote-Control-110-Drift-Vehicle-Shock-Absorber-Damper-for-3Racing-SAKURA-D3-D4-Car/32911072525.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.9.6cdb7a56tQQeVs&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10065_10068_319_317_10696_10084_453_10924_454_10083_10618_10920_10921_10307_10922_537_536_10059_10884_10887_100031_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_51,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=02d55822-8f22-4e69-8821-69a45e234902-1&algo_pvid=02d55822-8f22-4e69-8821-69a45e234902 18650 battery contact: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/DIY-Element-copper-18650-battery-pole-Contacts-Anode-Negative-Electrode-contiguous-Spring-Contacts-5Pair/32615252355.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.43.535615d8hCZCPP&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10065_10068_319_317_10696_10084_453_10924_454_10083_10618_10920_10921_10307_10922_537_536_10059_10884_10887_100031_321_322_10103,searchweb201603_51,ppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=a8a911bd-a07b-47a8-a41d-10991e78f21e-6&algo_pvid=a8a911bd-a07b-47a8-a41d-10991e78f21e Suitable steering servo: Hitec HS-225 / HS5245, Futaba S3016 Suitable gear servo: Towerpro MG90D (probably many other micro servos fits) The front "shocks" were made by soldering a 3x5mm bush onto a 6x5mm brass pipe , I used a M3 partial thread screw as a shaft (head ground flat) connected to a M3 ball end. A shock cap file is included if you want to make a set. The gear box shifter stick is a M3 partial thread screw, the linkage is 2mm diameter wire. I used a push rod linkage on which I cut the stem to connect the lever with the wire. Brass pipe 6x5mm and 5x4mm (link to come) I added a 40mm 12V (or 6V) fan to fit on the front grill, I removed the ESC fan. Video link: https://youtu.be/z20tN2rHSgs Edit 10/06/19: for correct belt clearance print "Motor 52t Pulley.stl" at 99% scale (X and Y only is best but you can scale down the hole thing too!)
