Bodum Coffee Burr Grinder - 3D printed Replacement Ring
Description
Success story-time: so, my coffee grinder broke  ... But, being the resourceful person I am, I took it apart and found the broken piece. Luckily it turned out to be plastic. So I took out my caliper, took a bunch of measurements, converted this item into a digital part file (~1hr) and then printed it in hi-resolution clear resin (~5hrs), then post cured it for increasing its mechanical strength under a high powered lamp (~30min) ... And boom! By the end of that same day, I had a functioning grinder again. Only took me personally a few hrs of work ... Now, my grinder works even better. The grind is much finer and my "crema" is much nicer on my espresso. Probably should have replaced that part before it broke. If you have a similar issue with broken parts that need replacing, don't buy a new part, see if it can be fixed. A lot of people offer 3d printing services. I do as well, and I can ship, and I can even design the broken part if it's not available as a digital download yet. EDIT: I added my Final Version here. It is fully simplified without any useless parts. It is also specifically made to make the Bodum into an Espresso Grind range.
