Filaments.ca MasterSpool Adapter
Description
To use this, mount your Master Spool compatible filament to the adapter and out the adapter onto the female half of the filaments.ca master spool. Please mount the adapter face side first (filament side facing out). Then, secure the end of the filament in the respective hole (ther are two, one or 1.75mm, the other one for 2.85mm), and screw in the other half. Filements.ca has launched their own master spools, called Econofil. They hold 1kg of filament, and are very good bang for the buck. However, they do not a great selection of colours. Worse, their spool design is not compatible with the RichRap MasterSpool design, so you'll either be stuck with their filament or will have to print out a full MasterSpool for other options. This adapter fixes that, allowing you to fit a spool designed for the MasterSpool (e.g. DasFilament) on your existing filament.ca master spool. NOTE, to my knowledge, Spool3D's desin for the ReSpool3D master spool is the same dimensionally as the filaments.ca version, however, this has been optimized for the filaments.ca design.
