Printrbot Simple Metal Fan Shroud / Extruder Shield
Description
Here'S A Different Approach To A Simple Metal Fan Shroud. Instead Of Funneling The Air Into A Small Area Near The Surface, Which Restricts Airflow And Causes Blowback, I Decided To Shield The Area That I Don'T Want To Cool: The Extruder. This Results In Zero Blowback And Unrestricted Airflow. . The Funnel-Style Fan Shrouds Provide A More Targeted Deposit, But To Get This, They Must Choke The Airflow. The Theory Behind My Shroud -- What I'M Hoping Anyway -- Is That The Build Plate Will Receive More Airflow, Even If The Deposit Area Is Less Precise. My Design Also Allows Air To Travel To The Ceramic Insulator, Which Could Reduce Lockups Caused By Plastic Melting Before Reaching The Extruder. .
