Nerf Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Weaver Rail Adapter
Description
This is a weaver rail designed to fit on the top of a NERF Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst rifle laser tag toy. The stock sight is way too "loose" for accurate long range tagging, so something to hook up a "real" sight to it is a must. Originally, I had intended to integrate this into a piece that can take the place of one of the original pieces of the tagger. After disassembling the tagger, I realized that the original plan was not reasonable for a variety of reasons. In the end, I decided to match the top of the tagger as well as I could. This piece is intended to be glued to the top of the tagger. A non-destructive glue can be used. I personally recommend Shoe-Goo as it holds really well, but can be peeled off with care, with no damage to the parts that were glued (I did exactly that when testing the new versions). You can use any glue you want, but something with volume, or that expands (like Gorilla Glue) would be ideal. Thin glue like super glue probably won't get the contact area you need, and would be too brittle to last during actual game play. If you want even more security, you can take apart the Deltaburst and drive some screws up through the piece this glues to, and into this print. It will be tricky, though, and you'll soon see why I didn't go with my original plan. Update May 20, 2020 - Shorter versions were requested for use with smaller sights and to lower the overall height of the sight. Two new versions were added that do this at two different levels. It is advised that the sights you choose have some way to adjust their aim, because it will be difficult to glue these on perfectly every time. Once they're secured, you'll need to adjust your sight so that your aim is true.
