Treadmill spanner for Mill
Description
As many others have, I have converted my mini mill to a use treadmill motor. The larger motor has more torque at low speed and should (when the controller is replaced) reach a higher top speed. I only did this conversion when the original motor started to fail. The method I used for this conversion replaced the pully that had provided a spot for a tommy bar spindle lock, so I created this wrench to hold the spindle when changing collets/chucks and when tightening the spindle nut. The spanner only fits on one side of the treadmill pully so be sure you use the correct side up in your application. (the other side of the TM pully has a spot for the RPM sensor magnet and casting artifacts.) Let me know if you would like to see more details RE the X2 mill conversion.
