Icicle Star
Description
This is a hanging decoration. It is designed to allow a #6 screw hook to be inserted at the top to hang from. The icicle lights (up to 18 tubes of 16mm diameter maximum) can be inserted to each half from the inside and then the two halves are screwed together. The wires between the lights should be able to be contained within the sphere and the holes should be large enough to allow the electrical plug to come out. I saw large versions of this available to businesses, but never found one for sale. I already had icicle lights that had a similar motion, so I decided to create something to hold them in a star shape. The icicle lights I'm using came in packs of 6 and I recently bought a set of 12 (link below). So I decided to have 18 holes available (if you use the 2 hole bottom). The picture of the yellow sphere has only 17 holes, so I lashed one of the tubes to the thing the icicle star is hanging from. The holes are for 16mm tubes, but there are adapters (holders) for 11.75mm tubes. The wires are packed in enough to hold the tubes in for me, but I've also included caps to hold the tubes in place. V2 files: I didn't expect this to be a "Work in Progress", but I was unhappy with how the top and bottom screwed together as well as how the caps screwed on. Modified the bottom pieces and caps to fix this and removed the old files.
