Giant Outdoor Christmas Tree Ornaments

Giant Outdoor Christmas Tree Ornaments

Description

I wanted some large ornaments (this is Texas after all...) to go on the pine trees in front of my house. I used thin wall 1/2" PVC pipe that I bent with a heat gun using plywood & nails as a template. After I bent them, I printed some connectors based on the angles and number of edges the ornament would have. (The largest is about 6 feet tall.) I ran a pipe down the center to add support and wrapped it with color changing LED lights. After everything was assembled, I wrapped the ornaments with packing shrink wrap that I got from a local hardware store. (I used some clear duct tape on the edges to make sure everything stayed in place.) To finish, I added some gold duct tape to the top to give it the appearance of a hook mount. After Christmas, I'll cut away the shrink wrap and disassemble for easy storage. Note: Be careful during assembly. I broke some of the arms on the connectors and had to reprint a couple of times. Based on the size and shapes of your ornaments, feel free to modify the connectors as needed.
