Automatic CD / DVD Burner / Ripper
Description
for larger external cdrom drives. uses 1 28byj stepper motors. cdrom needs to be opened and closed twice to get the cdrom out and new one loaded. how it works, drive opens pops the cd up then closes and slides the cd onto the top of the drive. pushes old cd off the top while pushing new one in, drive opens back up then pushes new cd into the drive and closes again. glue a 1/4 inch nut on the end of the popper and attach a 1/4 inch bolt to the counter weight side. also you will need a servo hotglued to the front of the drive bay to enable the popper. as of christmas 2018 the cheepest bulk dvd burner on ebay is 8-19 thousand dollars. a rubber band wheeled version near the front might work better yet, i'll have to see when my all metal mk10 hotend throat gets here. https://netpipe.ca/?page_id=1683 links to this article with other information Pioneer SATA BDXL BDR-S09XLB drives look really good with XL support. https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136250 also there is a sale on these Blueray can hold 50 and 100 GB versions 10 Verbatim BD-R BDXL 100 GB 4x Blu ray Triple Layer Bluray Printable Discs 100 dollars on amazon DVD DL can do 8-8.5 GB amazon has great prices , 70 cents per DVD DL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syf_i80REyU shows inkjet printing on disks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTOvCyK48eI list of models that do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K7qIfL_JBY plexdisk 50 dvd's with inkjet surface for $60 $1.20 each . https://www.amazon.com/50-Pak-PlexDisc-Liquid-Defense-Printable/dp/B01LWAHRMP otherwise use ebay, they have pretty good prices for media aswell. i bought 100 titan cdr water resist disks im excited to try too at 1$ per gig so you should be able to make 90 dollars profit off of selling one BDXL disk loaded with whatever. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3085848 print one of these to go with it and then connect the the angle on the tower was a bit too steep and tall maybe, but i found if you rest the back legs over the backside of the unit there is enough room to guide the cd's in and slow them down. i also added paper towel to the mouth of the dispenser with some hotglue. also use hot water to reshape the slide if needed put a nice curve in it. would be nice to be able to buy blueray's full of linux source code / virtual machines (might start working on that soon hopefully). if you burn alot of dvd's you would want do this in a separate room or with good ventilation they do make a bit of stink after a full 8gb burn. this is not ready yet is a WIP.
