Nest Hanger: A redesign of a Northern product

Nest Hanger: A redesign of a Northern product

Description

This was a little project I made for someone. A trendy minimalist hanger and bowl that will look great by a front door to hold pocket items, keys, hat, sunglasses, small bag, etc! All credit goes to Northern.no for the original product and 3D CAD files that were available to base this hanger from. Their hanger is constructed from aluminum and steel. I made this for those who wanted this product, but would have a hard time dealing with international shipping. No fear, this model can be printed from the comfort of your home and has been redesigned to accommodate thickness necessary for 3D printed parts. Features: -Thicker hanger and bowl: May not be strong enough to hold heavy bags like the aluminum and steel original, but small totes, hats, keys, etc will hold just fine (reference print settings for strongest parts) -Wall mount: A new separate piece that can be attached directly to the wall with a regular sized command strip, and the hanger can then be slid onto the mount. Easy installation and removal, with no wall damage. Perfect for dorms! -Magnet: A new additional feature. Above the hanger is an extrusion to secure a small circular magnet (can be bought from Hobby Lobby https://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Basic-Crafts/Magnets/Craft-Power-Magnets/p/123549 or whatever magnet that fits those dimensions) as an extra spot to store a spare key, keychain, etc. Printing: I'd recommend a thicker infill, anywhere from from 70-100% to ensure the PLA or ABS is strong enough to hold up to the stress of hanging and holding items. May not be necessary if a stronger filament is chosen. I printed my prototypes at 80% and they're fairly robust. DISCLAIMER: All photo photographer belongs to Northern, and does not represent what the final model designed for 3D printing will look like (although its pretty much the same). I'll still be updating this over time, so look out for updates!
