Wooden skewers plane
Description
Something my boys and their friends had some fun with for several hours over days - constantly optimizing and changing things and learn about center of gravity, lightweight construction etc. E.g. they found out that the fin is far too heavy and too thick :-) To my shame I didn't take pictures of the results... To build: Just 3dprint the parts and use some wooden skewers to connect them (the 3mm BBQ-things - larger diameter than toothpicks). Use light paper to cover the wings. Adjust CoG via different levers for tail and nose and add coins. Three (€-based) coin holder-variants are included. The planes will barely fly better than a paper plane but they will - if everything is done right and well adjusted - glide along and follow a linear path. So - nothing superspecial but at least very educational for young flight mechanics scientists :-) *** Caution - because I'm lazy I didn't scale the elevator-rips ("04_elevator_rip.stl") as the part itself recycling the wing rips. I just scaled them by 2/3 (67%) in the slicer. Do the same - otherwise it will not fit ***
