100mm Calibration Stick
Description
Use this 100mm stick to precisely calibrate your extruder steps without wasting a lot of filament. 1. Hold the stick where the filament enters the extruder. 2. Stick a piece of tape at the end of the stick (don't use a pen), so that it is exactly 100mm from the filament inlet. 3. Send G92 E0 to zero the extruder counter. 4. From your control panel, extrude as much filament so that the tape reaches the inlet. 5. Send M114 and read how much your extruder (E) "thinks" it extruded. (let's say 112.5mm) 6. If you are using steps/mm, divide the number received in "step 5" by 100 and multiply the result by your current steps/mm. Example: (112.5/100) * "current steps/mm" 7. If you are using mm/steps, divide "100" by the number received in "step 5" and multiply the result by your current mm/steps. Example: (100/112.5) * "current mm/steps"
