Centauro B1 120mm tank destroyer (Italy)
Description
This is a 1:76 model of the wheeled Italian Centauro B1 tank destroyer / reconnaissance vehicle, fitted with the 120mm low recoil gun. It is based on the skin model shared in the SketchUp library by Empy, to whom my thanks. It required a fair amount of work, as the wheels were not integrated fully, and the level of detail required some simplification and strengthening to print satisfactorily. The wheel are not yet quite right (they are too 'flat'), and the turret baskets need further work, but I am likely to be tied up for a bit. I offer some alternative slices of the model to suit different printing preferences, but it seems to create an attractive and different model. Developed as usual on Sketchup (splitting the model into parts; thanks to AutoCAD) and 3D Builder (thanks to Microsoft), with Blender tried on occasion when model slicing proved problematic. Not all the models are robust in splitting, but the published ones seem to work. Enjoy!
