Scythe Unit Boxes - Remix-new hinge
Description
Family asked me to print this from "gryn"s files. I printed the first box and broke the long skinny hinge taking it off the bed. I did not like the way the box opens so I redesigned the hinge - im not sure if these will fit but I did not change the dimensions of the box. I will get pictures after Christmas in the box. This design requires you to print the logo first - there are vertical bars to keep it lined up properly with the box. I printed this at .08 layer height resulting in a 2 layer print. I then removed the vertical bars that printed and the skirt i always print. Then i printed the Unit Box directly over the logo which i did not remove from the bed. For the unit Box i printed .20 layer height - when it does the first layer of infill over the logo, the nozzle did not touch the previously printed logo but bonded with it perfectly. I dont have a dual extruder and like this method i have used it in the past as well. To attach the lid to the box, clean the hinge areas of any print artifacts. insert the logo side into the hole at an angle. You will need to slightly bend the lid - i found it works best if you bend it right near the center divder in the box. line up the other peg into the hole and SLOWLY release the tension where you slighly bent the lid - if the peg puts pressure (not lined up in hole) stop and backup - I did manage to crack the hinge on one box when i release the pressure and the hole was not lined up corectly. This is a work in process, im considering adding a clip to keep the lid fully closed, for some reason they dont want to close all the way on their own. The logo files are all named similar to the remixed version, i dont own or know anything about the game sorry if they are mispelled. There are two versions of the unit box - 1 is the basic box for most of the set, and one is the money box with the slots for the game currency. I also included an offset lid (still lines up with the logo) and a box only - in case you need to print only half at a time. 12/22 Update - Added a pillar near the hinge hole, and updated the money box as well - i had broken 3 boxes in the same spot trying to get the lid on, so hopefully this will help - im printing one of the new ones now. Hope people like this - and i will have some updates likely after the holiday
