Generic record platter coaster
Description
This is a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2407178. I printed one of them and although it turned out OK (see photo, upper left), the "grooves" were rather small and prone to collecting debris that could be a bit hard to clean out. Also, I typically run a 0.5mm nozzle and super fine details can be slightly difficult to achieve. So I designed this one with 2mm wide grooves and troughs which are very easy to clean if you ever need to. I also designed it with a 39.5 mm (~1.5") diameter center depression suitable to accept a custom printed label or record logo. Double-side stick tape works perfectly to adhere a label to it and if you laminate the label first with clear packing tape it will help to waterproof it. I printed a caffeine molecule coaster a while back, and still have it and still like it. But I like this one much better because it is more stable on every coffee cup base I have. I use it on a daily basis and both it and its label are holding up perfectly. **Slight update** I'm still loving this one and have stopped using the caffeine molecule version altogether. Also, some concerns I had about the PLA material I printed it from turned out to be unfounded. The hottest thing I have placed on it (almost boiling hot coffee in a cup) did not deform the material in any way. I wouldn't put a hot frying pan on it or anything, but a coffee cup- no problem. **:-)**
