Schrute Nutcracker

Schrute Nutcracker

Description

This is the nutcracker that Micheal Gives to Dwight in the Secret Santa episode of The Office (s06e13). I modeled it in Fusion360 I wanted to keep the overall look in line with the actual prop while making printing and assembly relatively easy. With that in mind, I printed each gear/shaft assembly as one piece. The actual prop has the gears machined separately and then assembled together. The gears were printed with 5 perimeters and 50% infill. The handle, handle arm, and each frame side were printed with 3 perimeters and 25% infill. The rest of the parts were 2 perimeters and 10% infill. The handle, spacers, and tray were all printed with brims to help with adhesion. Support was required for the gear/shaft assemblies, handle arm, and pipe brackets. I made sure to print the supports with an interface layer. This simplified support removal and was especially helpful on the gears. You'll need to print 3 retainer rings, 2 spacers, 2 frame sides, and 2 pipe caps. I used M3x12 machine screws for the pipe brackets and M5x8 grub screws for the retainer rings and handle arm. I used M5x20 machine screws for the frame and handle.
